Priority Point System FAQs

What are Priority Points?

Priority points are a system that rewards sponsors for their long-term commitment and support of CLOC. Points are earned through past sponsorships, participation, and engagement. Sponsors with higher point totals will have an advantage in timing for selecting sponsorship opportunities.

We will release the ability to purchase sponsorships in waves, or designated time-slots based on point rankings. The higher the ranking, the earlier the time slot and ability to secure desired sponsorship opportunities. Following the last wave, we will open all remaining opportunities to new-to-CLOC sponsors.

Points are awarded based on areas of engagement and longevity.

Points calculated by areas of engagement will be awarded as follows:

  • Participation at Marquee Events
    • 1 Point for each event when total sponsor dollars are >/= to $5,000
  • Sponsorship Opportunities outside of Marquee events, including:
    • Advertising
    • Group Events
    • Webinars
    • White Papers
    • Career Center
    • Vendor Directory
  • Points awarded by longevity will be awarded as follows:
    • 2 Points for each year a sponsorship opportunity of any value is purchased.

Points are awarded following the date of the purchased opportunity, assuming full payment is received. For instance, if an ad that will run in April is purchased in January, the points will be awarded in April when the ad runs. Point calculations used to inform wave purchasing order for the 2026 CLOC Global Institute will be tallied on August 31.

  • Longevity Points Expiration Rule
    • Longevity points never expire.
    • Longevity points is the only point Category that does not expire.
  • Engagement and Total Investment Points Expiration Rule
    • Points will be honored for three years and then begin to roll off.
        • This diversifies rankings by recognizing recent participation.
        • Drives continued investment year over year to maintain position.

In the context of a priority point system, deductions play a crucial role in promoting responsible behavior, adherence to rules, and overall fairness. While deductions subtract points from an individual’s total, they are primarily employed to encourage positive behaviors and uphold the integrity of the system.

All point deductions will be in direct response to violations and will be thoroughly evaluated prior to discretionary action being taken. Violations are any action that violates the agreed upon Terms and Conditions as outlined in the Sponsor Agreement, event participant agreements, or behavior that does not adhere to CLOC’s Anti-Trust policy.

Companies that have been acquired by or have acquired another company, may use the organization with the more favorable point allotment. Points cannot be combined.

CLOC should be notified in writing of any acquisitions or mergers between companies once completed with the date of finalization noted.

Following the notification from the companies of a change, CLOC will:

  • Conduct an internal review of historical records.
  • Modify master record with notes that identify mergers, acquisitions, and divisions as needed.
  • Communicate new point value to the allocated primary contact of the company.

The CLOC Global Institute is currently the only event that uses the priority point system for purchasing sponsorships.

Wave purchasing based on Priority Points starts November 12, 2025. Remaining sponsorship opportunities will be open to anyone starting December 9, 2025.
